Arcade Games
Arcade games are typically coin-operated games found in restaurants, pubs, video arcades, and other public spaces. Most arcade games are video games, pinball machines or redemption (rewarding the player per their score) games. These machines are programmed and equipped for a specific game, and consist of a video display, a set of controls (joystick, buttons, light guns or pressure-sensitive pads on the ground), and the coin slot.
Arcade games usually have very short levels, simple controllers, iconic characters, and increasing levels of complexity. They are designed as short adrenaline-driven thrillers compared to most console games, which have more complex play and stronger storylines. One reason for this is that since the game is coin-operated, the player rents the game for as long as their game avatar survives on the field. Any game on a console or a PC can be referred to as ‘arcade game’ if it has these attributes.
The history of arcade games dates back to the early 20th century amusement park games like shooting galleries, mechanical fortune-tellers or jukeboxes.
Today, there are 4,926 known arcade games, and these modern avatars are based on pure electronics and integrated circuits. The modern arcade games were developed in the 1970s, and one of the most famous of these early games is Pong, a simple game simulating Ping Pong.
Ralph Baer, who is now known as the creator of video games, created the first known home video game consoles in the 1970s. Improvements were brought to home consoles from late 1970s to early 1980s, the time during which Atari 2600, Intellivision and Colecovision were released. The video game slump of 1983 was not filled until the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) reached North America in 1985. This was when games like Mario Bros. and many others of today’s popular Nintendo games were launched.
The last two decades of gaming history have witnessed the creation of separate markets for games on video game consoles, home PCs and handheld devices.
The latest generation of arcade video games also has interactivity as part of the game design, making the game player feel more involved in the game. A radical form of interactivity, virtual reality, has not really taken off in the arcade game genre, but this is due to the technical limitations of truly being able to achieve real virtual reality by any means.

Acoustic Electric Guitars
The guitar is the most known and popular musical instrument. It’s an instrument that is played for almost all kinds of music, like rock music, country music, lounge music, pop music and contemporary classical music.
An acoustic guitar is hollow with a sound hole (a round hole in the face). An electric acoustic guitar is made up of wood and has six strings which produce a rhythmic, sweet, musical, yet loud sound. The difference between an acoustic electric guitar and an electric guitar is that a normal electric guitar can only be played when it is plugged in, where as an acoustic electric guitar doesn’t have to be.
Plugging in an electric acoustic guitar gives it an awesome sound. The electric guitars have a lot of knobs to deal with, whereas the acoustic electric guitars can be used as a normal guitar or an electric guitar. The strings of electric guitars are soft, and much easier to press. If asked to recommend what type of guitar is the best buy, then the acoustic electric guitar will definitely take a higher edge in recommendation as it can be used two ways: as a normal acoustic guitar to play it normally and as an electric guitar to be played when plugged in an electric socket.
The sound produced by an acoustic electric guitar when not plugged in is the same as a normal acoustic guitar, and when plugged in it sounds like a good electric guitar. The two-in-one purpose makes it the best buy if you are passionate about the guitar and want to have both types.

Tips, Tricks, and Resources on How to Avoid Scams
It takes careful planning to build your home based business.
Avoiding costly mistakes beforehand will prevent you from losing
valuable time and money invested. In this day and age, business
scams are lurking everywhere. So how do we keep ourselves from
falling prey to becoming victims?
1) Research- It sounds so simple, doesn’t it? You would be
surprised how many people just jump into a business without
researching a company’s background. The Better Business Bureau
offers background information and reliability reports on many
companies. Not all companies may be listed unless the company is
a member of the BBB or an individual has filed a complaint. It
never hurts to try, and it only takes a few minutes.
http://search.bbb.org/search.html If a company is listed, then
you will get a general idea of how long the company has been in
business and whether or not there have been complaints, reports,
or resolutions to any complaints filed. The BBB also has a
section on current scams at http://www.bbb.org/alerts/Scam.asp.
These are not just business scams, but the information is
extremely useful.
2) False claims- Does the company make claims that just “sound
too good to be true”? You know how the old saying goes, if it
sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Amazingly
enough, there are a number of people on the Internet who are
lured into believing all the “hype”. Why does this happen?
Because we want so badly to believe that what is written has to
be true. We want that “quick fix” or “quick income stream”. I’m
not saying that the quick income stream isn’t always possible,
but you have to know your stuff! If you are a newbie at
affiliate marketing or online business building, that “quick
fix” just isn’t going to happen. It’s a learning process. I’ve
been working on my business for 5 years, and I’m still learning
things every day.
3) Contact information- Does the business have contact
information available on their site? Can you call them? Do they
have a physical address? A legitimate business will have that
information posted on their site in an easy to find spot.
4) Ethical business practices- The Direct Marketing Association
has posted a set of guidelines for Ethical Business Practice at
http://www.the-dma.org/guidelines/ethicalguidelines.shtml .
These guidelines include such things as: *terms of the offer
*advance consent marketing *special offers and claims *marketing
to children *sweepstakes sites *fulfillment of orders
*collecting personal information and data on your website
*online marketing *telephone marketing *fund-raising *laws,
codes, and regulations
Know what to look for beforehand.
5) Does the company offer goods or services? Legitimate
businesses will offer some type of goods or services for any
fees they charge. A company that claims you can make money by
recruiting new members is an illegal pyramid scheme. If the
company charges a fee, they must offer some type of service or
product. Two great websites on fraud are the Internet Fraud
Watch www.fraud.org and the National Consumer’s League at
www.nclnet.org.
6) Ask, Ask, Ask! If you do a search on business forums or
discussion boards, what will you find? Thousands of websites
where you can post and ask questions about business. Chances are
that the opportunity you are interested in has already been
discussed many times over. Seek the opinions of other people who
are building a home based business. The advice is priceless and
well worth your search efforts.
The Top 7 Ways To Explode Your Website Traffic
The Internet is a vast labyrinth of plastic hallways and hollow slogans. The noise of competing websites is so loud that it often seems virtually impossible to get noticed.
Here’s your answer: spend 10 percent of your time maintaining your website, and spend the remaining 90 percent of your time promoting it.
What follows are 7 proven ways to get more traffic to your website:
1) Slap a sticker on your car or bike that contains your website address and a short tagline briefly describing what your site is all about. In my experience, this minor effort resulted in 10 to 15 extra visitors per week to a website I have since sold.
2) When appropriate, wear clothing that has ads for your website. This is especially fun since it shows you’re proud of the type of website you are operating. When people see your enthusiasm, it can often be contagious! This, in my experience, results in about 10 extra visitors per week.
3) Participate in message forums, and add a “signature” line to your posts provided that such items are allowed by the forum rules. This can contribute to as many as 40 to 60 new visitors to your website per week, depending how aggressive you are in participating within forums. Note that your participation should be meaningful. Being known as a the forum idiot is not likely to garner you many friends OR visitors!
4) Write articles, like this one. Not only do you get a link back to your website from the article directory to which you are making the submission, but you also have the potential to get added exposure if/when your article is used by other webmasters. Not bad!
5) Offer to sell your website on eBay. If you word your ad correctly, lots of people will visit your website, and you might even get an offer you cannot refuse! Short of getting a great offer, you will have created enhanced exposure for your website. This technique is tricky, and can result in the sale of your website unless you establish a high reserve price. In my experience, you can expect anywhere from 50 to 300 visits to your website using this technique - and once in a while, an actual sale of the website for a handsome profit!
6) Don’t be afraid to get publicity for your website using press releases or media stunts. This is a very mixed bag approach, and can result in either a LOT of excellent publicity, or the perception that you’re a deranged lunatic. Be careful! Keep the “stunt” reasonable. A well worded press release can earn you a nice 4 to 7 percent (or more) spike in traffic, depending on the base you’re starting from.
7) Finally, be sure you have a mailing list. It’s a great way to stay in touch with the people who have visited your website, provided they subscribe. Make it meaningful and interesting for those who DO subscribe. Nobody wants to sign up for a mailing list that is boring or redundant.
That’s it! Now you should be well on your way to exploding the amount of traffic your website is getting for little to no money.
Good luck!

Physical Training: The “Do Something” Mentality
Don’t get bogged down by looking for the “absolute best”
physical training program… Do Something.
With all the physical training programs out there all claiming
to have the fitness solution… how do you pick just one.
Don’t!
The truth is, there is no absolute one best physical training
program that can do everything for everyone… no matter what
the hype.
Experiment with different physical training methods, stresses
and intensities to find out which one is right for you at this
particular moment in time.
Modify physical training programs to meet your own personal
goals, needs, abilities and limitations.
But above all else… Do something!
In my experience I have noticed a couple of things when it comes
to how people approach physical training…
First, people spend too much time looking… and not enough time
doing.
This physical fitness program worked for so-and-so, but
so-and-so said this one was best, but I read somewhere that this
program worked, blah blah blah…
Quit looking for something to do… and do something.
Looking for a physical training program is doing absolutely
nothing to improve your fitness level.
No physical training… no benefits.
The absolute best workout routine is a fable… So quit wasting
your valuable training time on senseless analysis.
Second, people spend too much time analyzing their physical
training.
I do not care who you are, how many probes you have stuck in
unmentionable places, how many tests are performed or how many
machines monitor your every move… You will never be able to
determine how every molecule of your body reacts to physical
training.
Now don’t get me wrong… scientific study is important and can
point you in the right direction.
But once you are pointed in the right direction… go out and do
something.
Don’t bother me with what happened to 100 lab rats in 1986…
I’m busy training!
Furthermore, this analysis period seems to happen way too early
in the physical training.
The effects of physical activity will be seen over time.
Just keep doing something to improve your fitness levels and you
will see those positive benefits over time.
Third, people get sucked into “Quick Fix” physical training
fitness solutions
How many times have I seen someone on the right track with their
physical training… only to be side-tracked by some “Quick Fix”
physical training fitness solution.
They fail to see miraculous results like the ones advertised in
the pop fitness cultures marketing hype and decide that the
physical training they are doing just isn’t worth their time.
But the truth is… physical training is a journey, not a
destination.
You will never reach your perfect fitness level and then be able
to stop.
And this journey is a personal journey… no two paths will or
should be exactly alike.
You must find your own path towards physical fitness success.
You must do something… and keep on doing something!
I’m going to let you in on a little secret… You will never
enjoy any long-term benefits from your physical training if it
does not become a part of your lifestyle.
And no physical training will become part of your lifestyle if
you don’t do something that makes sense to you.
Look past the hype and ask yourself, “Will this type of physical
training bring about the results I seek, and will I continue to
do it to enjoy long lasting physical benefits?”
If the answer to this is yes, don’t keep second guessing
yourself… start immediately.
Wait a minute, what are you still doing reading this article…
get out there and do something!
I’m going to!

Cisco Routing: “ip Default-network” Vs. Default Static Routes
One point of confusion for some CCNA and CCNP candidates is the difference between configuring a static default route and using the Cisco routing command ip default-network.
At first glance, they appear to do the same thing. Both configure a destination to which packets should be routed if there is no more specific route in the routing table.
The major difference between these two options is that configuring a static default route only defines a default route for the router you’re configuring it on, while ip default-network will propagate the route via its routing protocol.
Let’s examine the routing tables of a hub-and-spoke network using the ip default-network command. R1 is the hub and R2 and R3 are the spokes. They are directly connected via the network 172.12.123.0 /24, and each has a loopback with a 32-bit mask that are numbered according to the router number (1.1.1.1, etc.) RIP is running on all three routers and the loopbacks are advertised.
R1 has another serial interface with the IP address 10.1.1.1 /24, and this network has been flagged as a default network with the command ip default-network 10.0.0.0 . It is not being advertised by RIP.
The routing protocol will then advertise this route. With RIP, the default network is advertised as 0.0.0.0 . (With IGRP, it appears as the network number, but is marked as an IGRP External route. ) This route has been designated a candidate default route on R1, as we see with the asterisk next to the 10.0.0.0 /24 network (code table removed for brevity):
R1#show ip route
Gateway of last resort is not set
1.0.0.0/32 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C 1.1.1.1 is directly connected, Loopback0
R 2.0.0.0/8 [120/1] via 172.12.123.2, 00:00:11, Serial0
R 3.0.0.0/8 [120/1] via 172.12.123.3, 00:00:11, Serial0
172.12.0.0/16 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 172.12.21.0/30 is directly connected, BRI0
C 172.12.123.0/24 is directly connected, Serial0
* 10.0.0.0/24 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C 10.1.1.0 is directly connected, Serial1
On R2 and R3, a default RIP route is now seen (code tables again deleted):
R2#show ip route
Gateway of last resort is 172.12.123.1 to network 0.0.0.0
R 1.0.0.0/8 [120/1] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:00, Serial0.213
2.0.0.0/32 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C 2.2.2.2 is directly connected, Loopback0
R 3.0.0.0/8 [120/2] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:00, Serial0.213
172.12.0.0/16 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 172.12.21.0/30 is directly connected, BRI0
C 172.12.123.0/24 is directly connected, Serial0.213
R* 0.0.0.0/0 [120/1] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:00, Serial0.213
R3#show ip route
Gateway of last resort is 172.12.123.1 to network 0.0.0.0
R 1.0.0.0/8 [120/1] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:27, Serial0.31
R 2.0.0.0/8 [120/2] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:28, Serial0.31
3.0.0.0/32 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C 3.3.3.3 is directly connected, Loopback0
172.12.0.0/24 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C 172.12.123.0 is directly connected, Serial0.31
R* 0.0.0.0/0 [120/1] via 172.12.123.1, 00:00:28, Serial0.31
And the default route works, since we can ping 10.1.1.1 from both R2 and R3. Since they have no other match in their routing tables, they use the default route.
R2#ping 10.1.1.1
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.1.1.1, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 68/68/68 ms
R3#ping 10.1.1.1
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.1.1.1, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 68/68/68 ms
When deciding whether to use a default static route or a default network, keep in mind that if you want the routing protocol to propagate the default route, the ip default-network command will do that for you. But if you want only the local router to have the default route, a static IP route is the way to go.

Determination
Determination goes very well together with
discipline. Determination is deciding that something
is a fact, or that you are firm about your position.
When you are determined to achieve something, you
will do whatever it takes to achieve that result. It is a
force of your mind that becomes evident, that will
not take no for an answer. In your mind and your
heart you have determined that there is an answer
or solution and that you will discover it.
When you have determination, you push
beyond resistance in your mind, which says you can’t
do something, and you find a way to do and do it well.
With that same determination, you push yourself
physically beyond your comfort level, to new
heights of success. You have determined in your
mind the end outcome and until you have achieved that,
you do not stop. Through sheer determination alone,
many people have achieved great results, and you can too.
Determination with discipline, patience, focus, and
stamina can propel you to great successes and
great rewards.
Determination is the grit that gets you through
a journey. It is the force of will to do all the
little details just as well as the big ones. It is
moving through and finding a way when there
is no way. It is trying everything and then adding
new things to get the results that you want.
It is tapping into all your known resources, and
pushing past your previous limits, to take the lead.
You are constantly focused on how to achieve the
results that you have set for yourself.
If you don’t know how to proceed, determination helps get you through the next phase, through the steps of learning, growing, and building, one step at a time and one process at a time. There is a strong place deep within you that you tap
into when you are exhausted, stumped, or at a dead end.
It is from this strong place that determination is born.
It says, “I will not be defeated. I will get this task done.”
It is here that you press on, that you make a decision not to
quit. It is because you have decided that what you are trying
to achieve is important, and worthy for you to complete.
You have felt in your heart that the outcome will be very good,
or even great. All dreams require determination to make a
reality. Anyone who accomplished something in this life had
great determination to do so.
You can accomplish your dreams with determination.
You can accomplish anything that you want.
Be determined in an outcome and slowly but surely, or even
quite rapidly you will see your dreams coming closer and
finally become a reality. That is the greatest feeling
in the world: when you have achieved something that you
have set out to accomplish. No one can take that feeling,
or the work that it took to accomplish it, away from you.

Anthony Robbins Live. He Just Gets Better And Better
I have been following Anthony Robbins for about 18 years or so
now, with his books and in my time, cassette tapes. It was not
until last year in May I decided to see him live in London to
determine whether this peak performance coach was as good as his
tapes. I came away from that event under no illusion that this
man was the master of motivation. His skills and relationship
with the audience was extraordinary. Within 10 days I had lost a
stone and within 5 months I had left my full time job of 19
years to full fill my own destiny and my own business
consultancy. His return date to London was February 2006, so I
decided to recharge my batteries and see if this Anthony Robbins
was as good the second time around. After all, this time there
were going to be no surprises, as I knew what was coming. The
astonishing thing was that even though I now knew the programme
of events it came across totally different. I was sitting next
to new friends with different challenges; I had also brought my
wife this time. Because there is so much audience interaction
and new questions were being asked and new problems were being
dealt with and my situation had changed since the first time, I
found myself going through a totally different leaning
experience to the first event. It fact it was almost as though I
had not been there before, although it has to be true that I
opened up quicker to those around me the second time. Anthony
Robbins has a mass of energy, he comes on stage at around 9.00am
on the Saturday and with only 30 minutes break is still there at
9.45pm. Sunday is even harder, starts at 9.00am and finishes at
11.45pm with only 30 minutes break all day. This is after the
Friday where nearly 10,000 people do the fire walk over hot
coals at 1200 to 2000 degrees. The last day is the Monday, which
is a bit more relaxed. It talks about nutrition and energy and
is hosted by Tony’s trainer Joseph. At 52 years old he looks
about 30, and gives his all. At about 5,30pm it is all over and
just like last year I got in my car for the 4-hour drive home
and now I can’t remember a thing about the trip. My mind is
going over my goals and what I can do, what I must do and my
energy levels and on and on and on etc. My wife has the whole
family eating healthy foods, that exercise machine that we used
to hang our clothes on has never been used so much as Tony now
has a new fan. I have 10 new phone numbers and email addresses
from extraordinary people literary from around the world, as
there were participants’ from 45 countries there this time. I
came to the conclusion that Tony Robbins does not do the same
seminar over and over again. Each seminar is different even
though on paper it appears to be the same. I now know why many
people go and see him time and time again. He adapts it to suit
the audience and adds new leanings and new ideas as he himself
grows and learns. There is doubt in my mind that Anthony Robbins
just gets better and better.

Finding Fun Things To Do On A Date
Need an idea for what to do on a date? Here’s how to go about finding ideas for new and unusual dates that are enjoyable and memorable.
The three most usual choices for what to do on a date are dinner, a movie, and a public event such as a sports game or concert. Those activities often give the couple several hours of time to enjoy each other’s company. But relying on those same activities too often, leads to a loss of the sense of drama and importance of the time spent together.
Human nature craves the out-of-the-ordinary. A new experience raises awareness and often contributes greatly to our ability to enjoy ourselves. If a couple continues to occasionally find new and unusual choices for what to do, their time together will be more enjoyable.
Probably the best way to find new ideas for what to do for a date is to make a point of being on the lookout for possibilities. You might see something in the newspaper or in a magazine. Someone you know could share an idea they have had. You never know when an idea will present itself.
You should also actively search for new and unusual things to do. A great place to look for ideas is web sites about things you are interested in. Use Google or your favorite search engine. Key in words or phrases that describe the activities and events that you find interesting and enjoyable. Look through the list of web sites found with the search. Visit the sites that seem most promising. The local visitors’ bureau is a possible source of ideas. They will likely have many brochures about local attractions. Look in the community events section of your newspaper. Look through the brochures at the Chamber of Commerce. Look in the yellow pages under headings such as canoes, rafting, hiking, and art museums. Check the bulletin board at the library. Use your imagination to adapt what you see at those places to suit your own interests and tastes.
Keep a list of possible activities. Have a place to keep information such as brochures, maps, and visitors’ guides. Set up folders in your computer for storing information you have found online. Use Notepad to copy and paste just what is of interest to you. The File menu of most web browsers has a Save As command that can be used to save an entire web page.
Be open to any suggestions and preferences your partner has to offer. Try to be sensitive to his/her tastes and interests. Give almost as much importance to his/her enjoyment of the date as your own enjoyment. After all, you probably won’t enjoy the date if your partner doesn’t.
Try to choose activities that give enough opportunities for communication. Conversation and comments you and your date make to each other are often the most important part of the date. Couples need to find out each other’s values and interests. Couples need reassurance and the stimulation of each other’s ideas.
Pursue your own interests. Being passionate about something makes you more interesting. What you do and where you go on a date is not so critical if the person you are spending time with is interesting and caring. Finally, stay informed to stay interesting. Keep up with current events and issues. Listen to the news and news commentary programs. One good source I like is the web sites of National Public Radio.
Alan Detwiler is the author of the ebook Date Ideas: Fun Things To Do For Couples available at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002WYFFC/ He has a web site with a section about fun things to do for couples at http://www.leisureideas.com/date ideas.htm

Daily Basketball Picks: 1/13/06 - Is Pau Gasol a Superstar?
Best: Nets @ Grizzlies: The Atlantic division seemed like a crop shoot after the Celtics were dismantled in the off-season. However it’s been the Nets to emerge as the clear leader. They still need a big-man who can run like Kenyon Martin did. Krstic is a keeper but Collins can be removed. Pau Gasol should have a productive game against the Nets. He needs more touches to elevate his status as a superstar. Predicted Score: Memphis wins in a close one 95-92
Runner-up: Wizards @ Pacers: Even with practically everyone out, Indiana has still played well enough to win several tight games. Gilbert Arenas and Stephen Jackson play pretty much the same way and there will be about 13 3-pters attempted between them. Antawn Jamison has to score 30 for a Wizards win. Predicted Score: Indiana wins despite the scare from the Wizards 98-93
Blowout: 76ers @ Celtics: If the rivalry between these two resumes, then the blowouts might as well. Boston owned the Sixers for the entire 1950-60’s. Al Jefferson has shown potential in his minimal time as a starter, but hasn’t really produced. This would be a great game for him to step up his game to a new level.Predicted Score: Boston wins 100-84
